pseudo-haptic abstract expressionism
JP Pemapsorn: A pioneer of a new evocative movement in abstract art.

Motivated by both Buddhist philosophy and a desire to extend the motifs and style of her abstract paintings, JP was inspired by the sense of texture that is evoked in ancient sculptures, by the way classist sculpture could conjure up ideas of softness using hard material. After experimenting with various substances, she eventually settled on the current multilayered technique which results in her “sculpture paintings”, also referred to more technically as pseudohaptic abstract expressionism.

Reminiscent in some degree to the experiments of Yves Klein in using texture in abstract works to enhance the experience of each piece, June further extends the idea of texture and light in her series entitled “Nothingness”. The philosophy behind this movement is further explained in the text accompanying the first piece in this series, “Casting our emotions”. Other examples include “One Way Mirrors”, “Shadow”, “Complete” and “Texture”. The last of these pieces, “Complete” and “Texture” are on display in private collections in Los Angeles.

Furthermore, the National Artist of Thailand in Architecture has placed his trust in JP's artistic vision. With the acquisition of her latest masterpiece, JP celebrates her third inclusion in his private collection, a testament to the enduring impact of her work and the deep resonance it holds within the realm of contemporary art.

Casting our emotions.
One may see the reality of the piece. It is a real object. But one may also perceive the shadows. The shadows themselves only exist because of the effect of the light on the picture. The picture does not change. However, the shadows change one’s perception of the picture and thereby become one with the picture, no longer separate from it.
In the same way, one’s emotions may cast shadows on all that is experienced. In this way, one’s emotions alter the perception of existence and appear to be part of it, while they are overlaid or entwined with existence by ourselves. Understanding how this illusion is created, may facilitate a more contented life, freer of suffering.

#1 Kindness
And in each
And every word
There is glory
Well-deserved
#2 The way you make me feel
And all your waves
And all your sighs
Are my hellos
And all of my goodbyes

#3 Caress
Every success
And victory
Well, it brings me
to my knees
